Diversified Chiropractic

Our chiropractors take an evidence-informed approach to the management of disorders related to joints, muscles, and nerves and their interactions with each other. A special focus is put on identifying the specific causative factors of existing pain and distress while also observing areas where intervention could prevent future injury and elevate performance. Recognizing that each condition is different and every patient is unique, our chiropractors employ a wide variety of manual therapies to expand upon the more traditional adjustment-based chiropractic approach. Recognizing the essential role of active care in the development of self-efficacy, they also employ movement coaching and therapeutic exercise prescription.

Active Release Techniques ® (ART ®)

Active Release Techniques® or ART® is a patented, state-of-the-art soft tissue system/movement-based technique that treats injury or overuse-related dysfunction within muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves. An ART® practitioner uses a hands-on approach to identify involved soft tissues then directs the treatment using anatomy-specific protocols that combine coordinated patient movements with directed tension into the target tissue.

Graston Technique ®

Graston Technique® is a patented soft tissue technique system that uses specially designed stainless steel instruments to detect and treat areas of scar tissue and fascial restriction within muscles, tendons, and ligaments. The technique employs a spectrum of light to heavy strokes to effectively treat soft tissue conditions at any stage of injury - acute, chronic, or post-surgical.

Laser Therapy

Laser Therapy, also known as Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), is a non-invasive, light-based technology used in the treatment of generalized pain and swelling, neuromusculoskeletal conditions, arthritis, sports injuries, and wound healing. The technology works by inducing a photochemical reaction at the level of the cell which subsequently leads to an activation of biological responses involved in cell proliferation, tissue repair and remodelling, immune/inflammatory modulation, and vascularization.

Pre- & Post-Natal Care

Pre-natal chiropractic care is employed with the same set of goals as with the non-birthing population - maintaining proper spinal and pelvic function and restoring and maintaining joint and soft tissue mobility. Pregnancy and delivery does however present a unique set of challenges and stresses, so our aim is to help expecting moms live these experiences with a maximally functioning musculoskeletal system.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapists have an extensive knowledge of how the body moves and functions and use evidence-informed clinical skills to assess and treat illness, injury and disability. Physiotherapy aims to restore your physical health by optimizing how you move and function in your environment. Movement is medicine and the cornerstone of physiotherapy is exercise rehabilitation. Appropriately, treatment focuses largely on how exercise can be used to improve your overall health and well-being.

Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS)

IMS (Intramuscular Stimulation) is a treatment technique that utilizes fine filament needles. The needles are placed within the muscle, causing a neuro-muscular response resulting in reduced muscle spasm and pain. The treatment works best when combined with movement and exercise rehab.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy aids in maximizing physical function and decreasing the incidence of injuries associated with work, sport and daily activities. Preventatively, regular massage therapy can be used to decrease the likelihood of developing chronic pain and to help develop better posture, mobility and strength. A variety of techniques such as myofascial release, joint mobilizations, deep tissue techniques, and relaxation techniques may be used to alleviate you pain and improve your physical function or merely help you relax and manage stress.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine, sterile, single-use needles into precise acupuncture points on the skin in an effort to encourage the body to promote natural healing and to improve function. Acupuncturists may also use electro-stimulation, cupping, and massage techniques to achieve the desired healing outcome. Acupuncture therapy has been safely and effectively tested in controlled clinical trials in recent literature for a variety of diseases and disorders.

Custom Orthotics

A custom orthotic is made to treat or adjust abnormal foot motion; provide support, stability and control; increase proprioception; absorb shock; and relieve pressure on uncomfortable or sore spots. A detailed physical exam is performed by one of our chiropractors. In addition, the patient walks over our state-of-the-art GaitScan mat which analyzes ground contact and pressure distribution during your gait cycle. Thirdly, a semi-weight bearing foam cast is taken so the orthotic can be custom molded to your foot shape.
